My Project

There's nothing like the feel and smell of new books sitting on a shelf waiting for someone to delve into the depths of their stories. Imaginations swirling and facts being processed - there's nothing better!

We are of an age where the importance of reading is not only stressed, but required every day.

But let's be honest, when was the last time you came across a young teen who was anxious to read? I want to change all of that!

I remember, as a child, hiding under the blanket with a flashlight into the wee hours of the morning just to finish my favorite Stephen King novel. Reading was a passion and I couldn't wait for the next book to hit the shelves so I could dive in!

Developing a love for reading involves more than earning AR points. Students need to be able to relate to the characters in the books they read and the stories, too! I'm hoping that is exactly what my new class library will do!
