Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hi! I’m a first grade teacher starting at a new campus, and I’ve been given the exciting opportunity to lead a brand new first grade classroom. While the space is full of potential, it currently has very little in terms of materials or resources which is where you come in! My campus is a Title I school serving a wonderfully diverse group of students, many of whom come from low-income households. I want to create a warm, engaging, and well-equipped environment that supports the whole child — academically, socially, and emotionally.
This project will help me turn an empty room into a welcoming classroom that nurtures curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
With your support, I hope to provide: Organizational tools like bins, bookcases, and student cubbies to create structure and calm. Flexible seating options for movement, comfort, and focus. Literacy and math manipulatives for hands-on learning experiences. Social-emotional learning tools such as books, calm corner supplies, and affirmation posters.
Creative materials like art supplies and building toys that encourage expression and collaboration. My goal is to build a space where students feel safe, supported, and inspired every day. A place where they can see themselves as learners, leaders, and problem-solvers. Your donation will make a lasting impacnot just on this group of students, but on many future classes who will benefit from a thoughtfully designed classroom from day one.
