Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Providing bookshelves and a diverse collection of books will transform my classroom into a welcoming learning environment where students can easily access literature that reflects their experiences and broadens their horizons. Having a well-organized library encourages independent reading, critical thinking, and thoughtful discussion—all essential skills for success in English and beyond. These specific items will give students the resources they need to explore different voices, genres, and ideas, helping them build stronger reading and writing abilities.
My goal for this project is to create a space that not only supports academic growth but also inspires creativity and confidence.
By offering a variety of books and a comfortable place to read, I want my students to discover a love for literature and develop their own unique voices as writers. This project aims to prepare them for college and career by strengthening their communication skills and encouraging lifelong learning.
What makes my students truly special is their resilience and determination. Despite the challenges many face in South LA, they show incredible drive and creativity every day. They are eager to learn and ready to engage deeply with stories that speak to their lives and dreams. With the right support and resources, I know they will thrive and use their voices to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
