Building a Community Care Closet

My Project

Since returning back to in-person learning this school year, it has become clear that due to the pandemic, many of our students and families are in need of extra support. I am restructuring the storage closet in my third-grade classroom into a care closet to provide students with some necessities in times of need.

Students need their most basic needs met prior to being able to focus on academics.

Through basic hygiene, comfort, and encouragement items, my goal is to create a space where kids feel welcomed, loved, supported, and safe.
