This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will support independent reading for the students in my classroom. My goal is to build a library of several hundred books, including novels, comics, short story collections, and graphic novels. This project will stock my library with popular favorites including Diary of A Wimpy Kid and Dragon Ball Super. A student can increase their reading level by incorporating reading into their routine.

Access to books to accommodate different reading levels, languages, and interests will help encourage reading growth this year and beyond for my students.

I want to provide my students with a class library that matches their interests. My students have enjoyed independent reading this year and I hope to continually stock my library with books. Additionally, the project includes a couple of other items such as hand sanitizer to encourage cleanliness. The light filters will help soften the fluorescent lights. The water bottles will be available for students to "purchase" using their PBIS points for exhibiting positive behavior. The checker board will be available for students on days when we have testing and the students have finished testing.
