Building a Bully-Free School Wide Environment

My students need a set comprehension listening center skill packs, 20 copies of "Bullying in Schools," and an anti-bullying classroom library with 20 more titles to provide anti-bullying workshops to lower grade students as a community service.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Let's face it, bullying takes place everywhere. It happens whether it be on the school yard or in the corporate world. My students want to give back to their school by teaching lower grade students how to deal with bullying. They want their school to be safe for everyone from kinder to 5th grade.

My students attend school in the inner-city.

Their school was recently built among factories, train tracks, and a neighboring soup kitchen. Gang violence is an everyday thing and for many of my students it's the norm. The school they attend is considered Title 1, because the majority of students qualify for free federal lunches. For many students, school is their second home. They live way below the poverty line and yet they come to school with hopes and aspirations to learn and become the best students they can be. My students are amazing. Despite all their hardships they are very sweet and giving. They want to make the world a better place for everyone.

My Project

My students are requesting "Bullying In Schools" and a collection of 20 anti-bullying books such as: "Anti-Bullying And Teasing Book","Berenstain Bears And The Bully", and "Amelia's Bully Survival Guide" to learn how to combat bullying on the play ground. They want to learn what to do about bullying so that they themselves can teach lower grade students how to deal with bullying. They want to provide a community service at school. They believe that by reading some of these stories to lower grade students and role playing what to do when bullying occurs, they can make the school a better place for everyone. I can't think of a better way for my students to internalize how to deal with bullies than to teach other children through role playing and storytelling.

Please help my students combat bullying on the playground by providing us with, "Bullying in Schools", and a collection of anti-bullying books.

My students want to ensure the school is a safe place whether it be on the playground or in the classroom. They want to share what they learn with their lower grade schoolmates by providing storytelling time and role playing workshops that will help even the youngest student deal with bullying in a safe and respectable way.
