This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students represent a spectrum of cultural and economic backgrounds. Teachers in New Mexico are proud of our diversity and inclusiveness. Our students relish hands-on, engaging activities from which they can discover scientific principals and mathematics foundations then express their learning creativity through writing or art.
We are a small school in a village which strives to maintain a rural heritage and connection to the Rio Grande and an agricultural lifestyle.
Parents walk their lamas to school to pick up their children and we hatch eggs regularly in school. If you have already made a donation to any of my projects, I truly appreciate you. You are part of the reason our school is exceptional.
My Project
We will use The Myth Atlas to read, identify and understand the archetype questions people have asked throughout history and across cultures everywhere on planet Earth and how folks sought to answer those question through mythology.
The Myth Atlas will be a way for my students to have access to the larger concept of archetype stories for the explanation of natural phenomenon common to folks around the world and throughout history.
Students will have the opportunity to make the cognitive leap from myth and narrative as explanations to scientific inquiry for answers to the same questions. The books are engaging and well presented, which should promote in-depth interaction with the material and information.
