Building A Better Classroom Library

My Project

My students are growing as readers and developing a genuine love for books. Some of our second graders are currently reading at a kindergarten or first grade level, while others are reading well above a third-grade reading level, and we need books that match their reading abilities so they can practice and strengthen their skills.

Children are more likely to read when they have access to books that match their reading level and spark their curiosity.

For students who are not yet reading at grade level, high-interest, low-level books are essential for building confidence and fluency. My goal with these book bundles is to provide a diverse collection of lower-level books so every student has the chance to dive into reading.

Our second graders are enthusiastic readers who love sharing what they’ve read with classmates. They enjoy discussing books and connecting over stories. These new books will allow all students to participate in those meaningful conversations, regardless of their current reading level. These books will help ensure that all students feel included and excited about reading.
