This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am the teacher of a very curious group of students. They attend a school that is classified as a Title I facility. All of them qualify for the free lunch program. The community they live in is stricken with a high level of poverty.

Despite these circumstances, they are so eager to please and be productive leaders.

They work so hard and come in each morning with warm greetings and huge smiles, which makes me look forward to each day.

My Project

I want to give my students an opportunity to do hands on building when they join my class. They are not able to share items so I have a vision to provide them their own Lego kits to keep at their desk to use when they see me. Currently, they are having to do everything online. I would love to give them a chance to take a technology break and give them the chance to create projects with their Legos. We can incorporate more engineering lessons with their Legos. I know they would love it.
