This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school has one printer in the teachers lounge that all teachers must share and the children can not use. I would like a printer so that the students have the capability to print work that they have been working on, so they can take it home, hang it up or pass it along for others to see.

I work in an inner-city, poor community.

Most of my students do not have any technology at home, so school is the only place they get to work on the computer. We are trying to get the students more "tech-savy" allowing them to create power points and writings on the computer. However, once they save the computer it is not always easy for them to print their work. The students enjoy technology and try to turn every project into something they can do on the computer.

My Project

Since we are teaching our students how to use various programs on the computer in all of the classes, it would be great to give them the opportunity to print out their work. The printer would be based in one classroom in the 5th grade corner of our school and allow all students to be able to print their work wirelessly from the various laptops and computers in the area. The printer would be stationed at one area, and students job would be to make sure the printer is used correctly and kept in the best shape for all 5th graders and further 5th graders.

Donations to this project will help to improve all of the 5th grade work, especially for student's who struggle with writing neatly and clearly.

They will all be able to take advantage of ALL of the computer programs and print out their work instead of just saving it to a file for a teacher to check. They can take this work home and show their parents how technology has improved their learning.
