Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With the items I am requesting, my students will be able to do something that every child should be able to do- color, build, imagine, work together, and "play" which is kid language for "learn"! My students do not have a globe in the classroom, but they want to learn about countries and where we are located in this big world. Every child should be able to have access to world knowledge in their classroom. They will gain knowledge with the nonfiction decodable readers. I plan to have my students using the tech in our classroom to research other cities and countries. They will learn all that they can and then use the markers and chart paper to write, draw, or just be creative in any way they want to present to the class. They will build a famous landmark from their location using the magnatiles and the magnetic blocks, which will incorporate math as well when they measure distance and decide how their building compares in scale to the real thing! My students are amazing, curious, and I can't wait to see the effort they put forth.
