Help me give my students a place to unwind, reflect and grow. We are working on building a college corner to support our current students and alumni students.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students from my school live in one of the poorest districts in the country, the Bronx, NY. Many of our students view coming to this public school as a way to escape their day-to-day struggles. We try our best to provide students with access to diverse, fun learning programs, but with major budget cuts, we can not afford certain supplies to keep us going. It has become increasingly difficult to offer character-building education services to our large population of students. The guidance team is working on our college and career planning atmosphere for the students. We want to inspire them to start planning for their future.
My Project
We are looking to build a school counselor corner for high school students and Alumni students. Build a space for them to grow, explore and support each other . Build a space they can call their own. Inspire them to work together to create their future plans.
One can only imagine the heights they will reach if given the tools to grow.
We work towards positive moments. We need supplies to help create and organize this space. We are looking for supplies to also help communicate positive messages among peers. The Senior committee meetings will be held in this office space so we are trying to gather materials for them.
