This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in a low-income, high-poverty area. Many students are English Language Learners and need experience with the language. They may not have many opportunities at home after school or on weekends to practice their English skills.
All of the students at the school qualify for free lunches.
Many come to school hungry and tired because their families are concerned with affording day-to-day necessities. The school is a safe haven for many students. They need to create good working habits in order to succeed in the future!
My Project
Young ones need to build up fine motor skills for everyday activities like writing and playing a musical instrument. However, some practices can be very boring.
Why not build skills while playing?
The students love to play with playdough. They can create letters, numbers, and other fun things!
The best way to have students build up their fine motor skills is to have them engage in activities that will stimulate and spark their creativity and have fun while doing it. Students love using playdough and tools that make them feel like they are creating something new from their imagination!
