I work with low-income students with different learning challenges. Most of my students are multiple years behind in both reading and math because of that; they have low confidence. Using the Grab and Match Math game will increase in difficulty; this allows them to improve their geometry, algebra, and fractions skills. Reading games, including "Can Do," will increase my students' vocabulary, inferencing, and working abilities.
When they are confident, they will lose the fear of being "bad" or not liking a subject.
. Using hands-on resources will help students improve their self-confidence and problem-solving. As a teacher, I want to set up each student successfully to help them learn in their preferred learning style. Most of my students are kinesthetic learners and benefit from manipulating and using hands-on materials.
