Help me give my students a hands on STEM-ulating experience where they can think it, build it, test it, analyze it, and rebuild it better again and again!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Wright's classroom raised $239

My Project
My kindergarten students (or "kinder-hearts" as I call them) always look forward to our daily science lessons. We are often recognized for our perfect attendance. My scholars NEVER want to miss a day of learning and exploring! My school is situated in a low income community where our students face unique struggles. So, I am consistently exposing them to think beyond these walls and this zip code they live in. I typically use my own resources to gather materials to provide them numerous hands-on experiments, activities, and learning tasks that support their development of the science and engineering practice skills while learning their Georgia science standards. It amazes me how they are able to learn so much and try so many new things based on using recyclables and reused materials often donated from parents or community members. One of our favorite tasks is to design a simple machine after reading a book or viewing a video that features a character who has to build something to solve a problem. I will model using the provided materials to design and construct a version of what was in the book. The students are tasked to change one thing about the build design to improve. Having this project will give me strong, reusable materials to support student in such builds.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
