I am the lucky school counselor of some amazing, resilient, big-hearted kids. Our school is filled to the brim with students who show up with smiles on their faces, ready to learn for the day. Their hunger for knowledge is contagious!
Despite the challenges our kids have faced within the last two years, our students have continued to remain positive and learned how to navigate learning in a whole new way.
To do this, they have relied on one another. Students are often heard encouraging one another, complimenting them, and advocating for each other. That is what makes our students extraordinary.

These tools will be used to promote the ASCA mindsets and beliefs for social and emotional learning. With the students being separated from their peers during the pandemic, they need extra support in regulating emotions, socializing acceptably, and being mindful of their feelings, and actions. actions. As a community we have seen emotional and social deficits with our youth. We must address these concerns now before they develop into lifelong challenges. The ocial and emotional skills they learn will allow students to access the academic standards, because as they say, "We must address Maslow before Blooms."
