This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am an elementary school counselor to over three hundred students in a K-5 Title I school in San Antonio, Texas. The students come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses. They all have different interests and academic abilities.

Our students are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom.

Much of my time is spent providing guidance lessons, helping students with their character, learning skills, emotions, and problem-solving. These skills are all important to help them generalize into their everyday lives.

My Project

This project is to obtain Build A Bear gift cards. I have several student who work on specific PBIS goals. The kids have been working throughout the year in mastering their goals. These Build-A-Bear gift cards will be some grand reward that students will get at the end of the year for accomplishing their PBIS goals.

The students will be able to pick out their very own stuffed animal!

They have worked hard and fought through a lot of challenges this year and I want them to be able to have a little bit of excitement. All our kids love stuffed animals and they make the best buddies. These stuffed animals will allow them to always have someone to cuddle. These furry friends will allow them some social-emotional love and companionship as well!

I am hopeful you will join forces with me to allow our students the opportunity to get their own Build A Bear stuffed animal.
