Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school where funding is low and resources are scarce. My students are a very diverse group of students with varying backgrounds. They also have a wide range of abilities that require constant differentiation of instruction to reach them all. I work alongside some awesome English Language teachers and Exceptional Children's teachers in order for us all to come together and have the greatest impact on my students. It truly takes a village to teach and reach students.

Children need opportunities for imaginative and creative outlets in all academic areas including reading and writing.

They crave authentic instruction and authentic learning. As their teacher, I am obligated and committed to providing them with as many opportunities as I can, to learn via exploration and imagination.

My Project

These books and book sets include classic such as The Borrowers and Harry Potter as well as popular graphic novels such as Smile and the Babysitters Club. My students will love borrowing and reading these books from the classroom library. My classroom library is their favorite place to be and these new books will keep them coming back for more! Students need time to discover the joy of reading and having a wide range of different types of books will help encourage them to be more independent readers. Give my students an imagination vacation through the powerful world of books!
