Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am currently building the math library in my classroom. I started teaching students with mild/moderate disabilities just last year, and I noticed how most of the materials in our classroom are outdated. Help me create an effective financial literacy section by giving my students these updated learning materials! This will help my students learn about counting money, comparing values, and solving word problems involving money. Students will get the practice they need to master money skills!
Manipulatives are proven to help students grasp mathematical concepts.
Number bonds are a big part of the curriculum, and these manipulatives would support and supplement what my students are learning in their general education classroom. Multiplication Machine is a tool my students can use to teach themselves multiplication facts, an important skill to have, especially in elementary.
To further help Middle School students, I plan to buy materials from TeachersPayTeachers to support calculator skills, budgeting allowance, spending & money-saving lessons, etc. There are many wonderful and effective materials at TPT that my co-educators have created that can be useful for teachers like me.
Lastly, the ATM Machine would be a fun way for students across all grade level to learn real-life money skills!
