Budding Mathematicians Need Your Help!

My students need hands-on math resources as well as math visuals to strengthen and enrich their math skills.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

I work at a Title 1, low-income, school in Florida.

I teach 2nd grade. More than half of my students are from a different country/speak a 2nd language at home. My students enjoy learning. However, they are at different ability levels and have varying academic needs.

Learning the language fluently is a necessary part of their education.

Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My Project

My students need activities focusing on place value, algebraic thinking, time, money and measurement activities. Also needed are math visuals to assist students with continued learning. Magnetic folder bins will aide the students in keeping their assignments organized.

The students will use these materials to strengthen as well as enrich their mathematical abilities during learning center time and during small group teacher time.

Your generous donation to this project will improve my 2nd graders' budding math skills.

My students love school and need to feel success at an early age, while recognizing that learning math can be loads of fun!
