This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come into the classroom everyday full of life, ready to learn and excited for what is in store for them that day. I teach at a Title 1 school where 93% of our students receive subsidized lunches. Our school serves students in grades PK through 8th grade and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment
They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers and questioners.
They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even though they don't know it yet. They are the future and I want to give them the best start I can in school.
My Project
I am requesting paint and paintbrushes to help my students make art that is more than just a crayon or colored pencil to a paper.
Painting gives students a new way to express their artistic side.
Painting also gives students a way to work on fine motor skills while making some keepsake artwork for their parents. Sometimes crayons and colored pencils will not do the trick especially with the holidays coming up. Crayons are fun to color with but when we make larger art projects, a crayon will just not do -- we need the texture and look of what paint can give us.
