This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember getting your very first team uniform as an athlete? Think of all the excitement and thrill you've been waiting for to finally join your team and represent not only yourself but your school and family behind you. My student-athletes share that joy and bond, not only because they finally have their team gear but because they are a family that finally looks in sync with one another and are standing side by side in unison. My student-athletes are showing their fighting spirit before they actually step onto the mat and look forward to the new season.
My students are students before athletes, that wear this uniform with dignity, pride, and courage for the school embodiment.
Student-Athletes at my school are enthusiastic, strong-willed and have a big heart for one another a bond shared through handwork, classwork and overall just being a family. They do not need these uniforms to show their compassion and hard work throughout this sport but it always feels good when they feel even more official and appreciated. I'm a wrestling Coach at NGMS and I'm so proud of the growth of our family.
My Project
My student-athletes thrive to keep up with the latest looks in wrestling to show how strong of a team they are. Wrestling is changing every single day, and so are the interests of my students. Students in my program like to learn top-notch moves from their favorite all-time wrestlers. Four years ago when this team was founded they had nothing, knew nothing and most importantly never really seen wrestling before. So I would like to do my part as a coach and make them feel appreciated from their hard-work by wearing these symbols with pride.
A lot of first-year wrestlers are drawn away from the hard-work they see going in but love the success going out, therefore, it makes them want to be part of the NGMS family.
Students tend to give up on themselves before even trying something they might like and also don't want to look silly wearing certain gear so with the new uniforms it will greatly boost up their confidence and performance on and off the mat.
