This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This is my first year as a 1st Grade Bilingual Associate Teacher. I work for a Title I school, with a predominant population of English learner’s students. Most of these students don’t have access to any books or reading spaces at home.

With your help, my goal is to give to my students the opportunity to enjoy a variety of books that can improve their reading skills, motivate their curiosity while impact positively their academic achievement and reading proficiency.

My students are mostly newcomers or English learners, most of them come from families with very limited resources, so this provides them an opportunity to enjoy a reading area that will make them feel comfortable, avid to learn and will offer them a motivational learning experience during the school year.
