My Project
My first graders have worked so hard all year! I want to ensure that they continue to learn over the summer. For this project, I hope to get sand buckets for my fantastic firsties and fill them with tools to keep them learning all summer long. The dice will be used to play math games. The chalk will be used to practice spelling words and sight words on the sidewalk. The bug nets will be used so they can explore the outdoors and get some fun hands-on experiences. The jump rope is to help the kids continue to exercise throughout the summer months. The gift card will be used to purchase resources to create little activity books, so that the kids can continue to practice reading, writing, spelling, math, etc. at home.
Studies show that students lose some of what they have learned, during the summer months, so it is important to keep practicing all summer long.
This is known as the "summer slide".
I am confident that the students will be thrilled to receive these items and it will keep them motivated to learn all summer long!
