This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My special education students' love of learning is reinforced when I provide materials that are interactive, engaging, and appropriate. Often times their inability to express themselves becomes a pent up frustration that can turn into a full blown tantrum.

Tactile learning through painting and creating large murals, selecting sensory items to calm down during a temper-tantrum, and coloring with easy-to-hold crayons help my most fragile students self-regulate.

As the school year winds down and our materials dwindle my students will use these items to finish the semester happy and strong.
