This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager and excited to try new things. They quickly learn that in their gifted pullout class, I will not go through directions step by step with them. I will depend on them to figure things out. My confidence in their ability to solve problems allows them to develop their own self-confidence.
My students crave hands-on learning opportunities.
As students in a Title I school, they often do not have as many learning life experiences as other students. When given access to new situations, they love to try different things until they get the desired result.
My Project
This year my gifted students have been working on a lot of engineering projects. They have built trampolines, "scribblebots," and catapults. These activities are perfect for their love of taking an engineering challenge and determining how to make it work.
The EiE Bubble Bonanza kit will make engineering fun!
We are in a warm climate area, so the ability to go outside and make bubbles will not only be an engineering learning experience but a way to make the school day a little more fun. My students love to learn and are grateful for any learning opportunity that allows them to apply their problem-solving skills.
