Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Black Student Union meets weekly to brainstorm activities and raise funds for the club. In order to encourage attendance with teenagers, it's imperative that we have food. Last school year, my classroom also served as a hub for students who were hungry throughout the day, and it was nice to see that they had identified another safe space for resources on campus.
Because it's not always about food, I know that having the snacks helped the students feel more connected to the school while not being distracted by hunger.
