My Project
I want to be able to use these resources to help students understand the traumas they have experienced and learn how to rebuild and develop resilience. Psychoeducation is a vital component to helping an individual understand what they have or are experiencing in order to grow their character, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Having the "CBT Toolbox for Children and Adolescents" will allow me to inform the students I work with of the trauma or diagnosis they are facing, so they can learn to understand and thrive in their mental well being.
The therapeutic games that I chose can be used to create a fun, learning enriched environment for students to allow rapport and trust to build in our communication and relationship to assist me in guiding their journey in growing their tenacity.
"The Therapy Games for Teens," will help me to provide students with the ability to respond with empathy in a variety of contexts and situations, identify others’ feelings, perspectives, circumstances, experiences, and engage in active listening. "CBTime Therapy Games for Kids" will permit students to gain self-awareness, understand the ‘how and why I think and act,’ including their impact on others and build skills that facilitate the regulation of emotions by recognizing one’s thoughts, feelings, and values and understanding how they impact one's behavior.
In today's day and age of electronics, social media, and the busyness of parenting, I think our youth need to gain knowledge from a variety of interactions for their character development, personal responsibility and problem solving skills. I would use "Social Skills for Kids" to help students understand responsibility, critical thinking and problem solving skills. It would help them to consider the perspectives of others, identify the benefits of treating others with respect, and identify strategies to help persevere in difficult situations.
