Brown Bear, Brown Bear

My students need a Brown Bear, Brown Bear Big Book, a Literature Based-Sight words center, a color and light discovery kit, and the Lakeshore Color Discovery Tubes.

My Students

In the first few weeks of Kindergarten, we spend time getting to know the colors by reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? The one copy that we have is very old and has to be shared among four teachers! The pages are falling out and has characters in it that are not in the new version.

We are a group of Full Day Kindergarten students who like to learn about our world!

We do lots of hands on activities to help make us inquirers and help us to ask questions about the world around us. We would like to learn more about the colors and how they work when mixing them together!

My Project

The children in my classroom enjoy Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? every year, but this year, we are unable to enjoy it in our Big Book center because three other teachers need to borrow it for their classroom! We were amazed with all the colors you can make from red, yellow, and blue and having the color mixing tubes and the Can Do color kit would help us learn more about it! We would also like to have the Brown Bear learning center so that we can work on reading the sentences from Brown Bear, Brown Bear and become experts at recognizing color words!

This project is important in our classroom because our teacher has our Science brains engaged, but is currently lacking the materials to help us keep learning about colors!
