This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My preschool students have been working on beginning reading skills throughout the year. They have been practicing reading with their "reading finger" which goes under the words. While sounding out the beginning sound in words, they also use the pictures to help them figure out tricky words. These skills are great to practice in preschool to get ready for kindergarten.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

is a great book for my preschoolers to practice reading. The repetitive text and use of colors throughout the book are age-appropriate features to support my students in learning how to read. I would love to give each student their own copy of this book so they can share it with their families and practice reading at home.
