This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting supplies for students in temporary housing (STH). Many of our students have migrated from other boroughs, states, and countries for better education and a way of living. With your help, we can equip our students with everyday personal care and hygiene, provide extra food, and reassure them that they belong and are welcome.
With your help, we can cultivate confidence and reassure our students that their basic needs will be met at our school.
The undergarments, shirts, and pads are specifically for students recently placed at local shelters who do not have anything but the clothes on their back. The snacks will be another meal that they can have aside from regular school lunch. To build the student's confidence and cultivate strong relationships, I have also requested conversation cards in both English and Spanish for our school counselors to use during their sessions.
