Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 8TH grade math in the Inner Bronx, and too many of my students are far behind their grade level. Our students do not have access to computers, despite the importance of this technology to their education, their futures, and society.
It is critical that our students have access to computers at school, as so many have no other opportunities to use the technology. For my math students, a computer would make it so much easier to learn algebra and geometry, as they can explore it with programs that help them visualize the concepts. They can make mistakes with a computer, and learn not to fear either the technology or the math.
With access to a computer, I could guide my students' learning, so each could progress at their own pace, with interactive programs. Your contribution will go very far in impacting the lives of my 8th-graders. You will help many students to see the importance and reality of math in their daily lives. I thank you!
