My students need music stands to play in class. We currently have too many broken stands in our classroom that the students struggle to use. It would benefit our growing program if you could donate!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Valley View Leadership Academy is located at the base of South Mountain in Phoenix, Az. The school is made up of primarily hispanic students and is labeled a Title I school. Our students are responsible, polite, and caring. They demonstrate their talents despite the lack of funds to support extracurricular programs such as band and choir. Our students continuously make the staff and their families proud by always aiming for success. They are leaders in and out of the classroom!
Our students show so much love for music which has made our program so successful and strong!
I am proud to work at a school like Valley View where we love our students and community. Our school is also following the model of The Leader in Me where we teach our students that every single one of them is a leader in their life, education, and future.
My Project
Our school serves over 150 students that play musical instruments. The music stands we currently have are twenty years old and falling apart daily. Some of my classes are having to share one stand for four students! Our band is an award winning band in a title 1 district. Please help our kids learn by granting them the resources necessary to sit with good posture and be able to view their music clearly. Our kids deserve the opportunity to have new equipment but sadly, there are no funds to make this happen! Thank you in advance for your support! My kids will be so proud and happy to use these materials!
