My students need 36 new library bins for our classroom library.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Ruiz's classroom raised $322

My Students
In our classroom, students are engaged and making many trips to the classroom library. At the end of the year I want students to be critical thinkers and applying learning to new situations. My favorite quote is "There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is best of all."
My students are a group of gifted scholars who love to create things from scratch.
They come from a vast range of cultures and are accepting of one another. These students have been with each other since Kindergarten. They work really well in groups and love to read an independent book any chance they get. Students are reading in the morning, after they finish an activity, during lunch and sometimes even when we are walking in the hallway. They all have their own sense of humor that brings life to the classroom. My school is a small family where there is a ton of support for new teachers like myself. There are only two classes per grade. Our school's focus this year is preparing students to be college ready and having students engage in discussion in every lesson and subject. Students are constantly making trips to the classroom library.
My Project
Students will use the library bins to have easier access to the classroom library books. They will be able to search within a bin for books that match the bins title. During social studies, Jig Saw groups students will be able to select the library bin that best matches their area of study. Students will then use those books to begin their research. Students will learn library organization and students will be able to find what they need even when they peers return books to the library.
This donation will improve my classroom, because students are hesitant to visit the library because of its disorganization.
With labeled book bins students will be able to find books of their choose much easier. My classroom librarians will also have an easier time returning books in the proper bins for other students to find what they want to read as well.
