Our school is a small, diverse community of civic minded learners from a wide variety of backgrounds. We have students with heritage from every corner of the globe, and all our teachers is committed to helping every single one of our students learn. Some of our students qualify for free and reduced breakfast and lunch. We also have many English Language Learners. Each and every class at our school reflects our diversity, inclusiveness, and commitment to community engagement for every child. Through our Advisory program, students have an Advisory Teacher and group of students that they stay with for all four years of High School, further emphasizing the importance of interpersonal relationships at our school.
Our new TV & Media Production class will consist of young, passionate learners with expressive aspirations in the arts, broadcasting, and school community.
Since this kind of class has not been offered previously at our school, my students are very excited to have the new opportunity to explore this avenue of creative expression. With the addition of a TV & Media Production course, we will open up new possible college and career paths for our aspiring auteurs.
My Project
Our school strives to help our students feel like part of an extended family. Our student government program currently provides written announcements to the student body about on-campus happenings. They also plan and host student-run events throughout the year. Many of these events are open to the local community, and help to bring local families together.
With the NP3 Media Production program, students will be able to use technical and creative skills to bring our community together on camera.
Our program will need five basic video cameras with capabilities like external audio and SD card slots, in order to create our film projects. We will work closely with Student Government to film student events, and create a weekly news-style announcement show that we will broadcast to our community. Students will use the cameras to plan, write, shoot, edit, and publish creative projects that will bring the pulse of our school right to the screens of each of our local community members. By helping us provide students with camera equipment, you will help students learn skills that they will carry with them into adulthood, and create a record of our campus community that will last forever.
