Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Did you ever try to learn a new language? Many of my students are bilingual and struggle to learn the English language. I provide visual aids for everything we do. Imagine if we had the technology to print in a 3D format? Wow!

My students come from an urban, low socioeconomic area that offers a limited opportunity for academic awareness.

They are inquisitive, however their home life creates a barrier to life experience outside of their immediate area. Our school environment tries to bridge that gap by providing opportunities for hands on learning, site based visits, and real life connections. We must find creative ways to increase engagement and we work very hard to instill a desire to learn and achieve.

My Project

We will be able to create life-like visual aids. This will assist in of our objectives of making connections, providing enriching experiences, and fostering a classroom environment where horizons are broadened by exposure to everyday things. Once we are familiar with the equipment, I envision the students using this for projects, reseach assignments, and practical visual opportunities.

This is such a great opportunity from the MakerBot company.

It is an opportunity to receive technology that we would never be able to get otherwise. It gives us the chance to really think outside of the box and add a little creativity back into our instruction.
