Help me give my students an IPad for me to safely go to open spaces to provide needed SEL/counseling services to reduce the spread of germs and viruses in a small office.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am excited to start the new school year with my new 5th grade through 8th-grade classes. However, since I am new to the school, that means I am starting new with resources. The pandemic has created an environment where learning will be fully virtual this year. I have to get creative introducing myself and building relationships with the 400 students in the school community. All of my young scholars are considered low-income and qualify for free and reduced lunch. The pandemic has not made this challenge easier. But, as we all know, children are resilient!
My Project
Social-emotional learning has been a hot topic this past year. However, most safety guidelines have kept educators distanced from students. This has made it difficult to provide these much-needed services to our most vulnerable populations.
In urban school settings where offices and classrooms are small, providing services to students has been close to impossible due to safety guidelines for how many individuals can be in a room.
An iPad will allow me to go to an open space such as the play yard, auditorium, lunchroom, or even hallway to provide services. The touch screen and case for the iPad will allow me to wipe it off to remove any potential germs/viruses between student use. I cannot take a desktop with me and that would require the student to come close to me to work.
The pivot from virtual, to hybrid, and the racial unrest in the country has taken an emotional toll on our students and community. Social-emotional learning needs to be at the forefront of the conversation when investing in our children's future.
