This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach English in a dual language program at a title I school in Bradenton, Florida. This year, we have seen the tremendous need to bring the science of reading into our primary classroom. The students need this systematic, explicit instruction with phonics skills and learning their sounds. Next year, our grade level is taking a heavy focus on the science of reading.
With these materials, I will be able to keep myself and my students organized, and begin bringing words to life.
These materials will help me have differentiated small groups and provide instruction that is tailored for my students needs. The tools for learning will help students practice new sounds, high frequency words, and organize their decodable books.
