My Project
My Kindergarten through 2nd grade students are developing essential reading skills and building confidence as young readers. They’re eager to learn, and they thrive with books that match their phonics knowledge while still being fun and engaging. That’s why I’m requesting a classroom set of decodable fiction text books with simple, controlled vocabulary that still tell a good story.
These books will go home daily in reading bags, giving students the opportunity to practice reading in a consistent, meaningful way with their families.
Many of my students need extra support to reach grade-level reading goals, and decodable books that align with our phonics instruction help make that possible.
But beyond skill-building, these stories make reading fun. With interesting characters, silly plots, and growing independence, students begin to see reading as something they want to do not just something they have to do.
