Bringing The Environment Into The Classroom

My students need an Ecology & Environments Big Book Set, a Nature: Silence of the Bees DVD, a Biomes Map, an Environmental Science Activities Kit and a set of labs.

This project is fully funded

I teach science in an inner city public school. This is the first year that we are offering environmental science as a class to our students. We are very excited to have this class as it is similar to many college level classes in ecology. This class will help to prepare many of our students for college science classes.

This is the first year my school will be offering environmental science as a class. Unfortunately we do not have many materials for this class, and we do not have a budget to buy a lot of exciting items.

By adding supplementary materials, I will enhance this new science class. The posters will be great visual aids to help in teaching the different biomes and where they are located in the world, giving my students an application of the concept. The labs will help to engage my students in all of the information we are covering. I believe the documentary will not only be interesting, but will increase inquiry as my students hypothesize what is happening to the bees. All of these different materials will greatly enhance environmental science at my school this year. All of these materials can also be shared with biology classes as they study ecology and the environment and global effects.
