There are a lot of amazing art videos and demonstrations available that I would like to be to show my students in class. Students will also be able to use these iPads individually in class at their tables as well as by the entire class when I hook it up to my LCD projector.
My school is a Title One School in Southern California with a multicultural student body.
Most of our students are on a free or reduced price lunch and can not afford classroom supplies or any materials. Our school is an aging facility so most of our money goes towards general upkeep and maintenance and we do not have the money for technology support.
My Project
Students will be able to use the iPads in class to look up demonstrations, examples and ideas at their table. I will also be able to hook up the iPad to my LCD projector to show the entire class educational videos, demonstrations, and examples they may need. Technology is ever changing and what I do have for my classroom is over 10 years old. Because of it's age, it is not feasible to use it anymore because it is so slow and does not have the new technology that I need.
Students need access to technology in class if they are going to be able to compete in today's society.
It is much better when they can actually get their hands on it and use it, not just the teacher showing them what to do. This will allow them to do that.
