This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students all come from very diverse backgrounds across Miami-Dade County. Many are recipients of Title 1 funds and come from homes where English is not the primary language. My students often have to complete with school is the county that receive better funding and also have superior technology. Despite these obstacles, many of my students have managed to become first generation college students attending prestigious universities such as UF, UM, FIU, MIT, Harvard, and FSU. Any help goes a long way and is greatly appreciated by myself, as well as my students.
My Project
Many schools are making the shift to digital their #1 priority. For well funded schools, this shift is happening rather quickly. Students in many schools have personal iPads or laptops provided to them by the school. These tools allow students to access all school related materials digitally and eliminates their carbon foot print in the world. Many of these products are also bundled with data plans allowing students who don't have internet connections at home, to utilize cellular networks. By funding my class you will help my students begin the transition to an all digital classroom experience. I urge you to please help as my students deserve the same opportunities that others are already getting.
