Help me give my students modeling clay and acetate to create the figures and backgrounds for their stop motion animation projects.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our small Title 1 school sits at the base of the Manhattan Bridge, hidden among the ever-growing collection of luxury high rises overtaking Brooklyn's Flatbush Avenue.
My students are all recently arrived newcomers who have lived in the United States for less than 4 years and come from a wide variety of countries such as Guatemala, Haiti, Senegal, and Yemen.
As students work together on a project, you might hear them discussing in a variety of languages such as Haitian Creole, French, Arabic, Spanish, or Wolof. We see this diversity as an incredible opportunity, but one that sometimes needs additional support beyond what our public school budget can offer.
My Project
Students are creating collaborative stop motion animations to retell and adapt moments from the books Boxers and Saints by Gene Luen Yang in order to explore the themes of power, authority, imperialism, Utopian societies, and the challenges of adolescence. The clay will be used to form their characters and some movable scenery while the clear acetate will function as a moving background of multiple layers.
This project will encourage students to explore and draw connections between art, history, and literature as they incorporate artistic choices, historical themes, and literary elements to design, build, animate, and film story retelling for a deeper understanding of a uniquely appropriate graphic novel while utilizing the fourth dimension---time!
Upon completing the project, students will then have multiple opportunities to share their stop motion animations. First they will present their work to other teachers during our annual portfolio project presentations, next they will share their work with our greater school community through our annual Arts Expo, and finally they will have a chance to show their work to their families during our spring family night.
