This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am extremely passionate about my students because of their creativity, curiosity, and eagerness to express themselves. Each child I teach brings a unique perspective to the classroom, making it a vibrant and dynamic learning environment.

The hands-on nature of puppetry encourages active participation, boosts fine motor skills, and fosters problem-solving.

More importantly, it allows students to convey their thoughts and feelings in a playful and non-threatening way, promoting emotional expression and interpersonal skills.

The puppet-making materials, including colored craft foam sheets, tongue depressors, and glue dots, will provide a tangible way for students to channel their creativity. These resources will allow students to design, construct, and manipulate their own puppets, thereby integrating art, drama, and storytelling into our curriculum.

My goal for this project is to engage students in meaningful, experiential learning that encourages creative thinking, enhances communication skills, and fosters a love for the arts. I aim to provide a platform where every student feels empowered to share their unique stories, contributing to our inclusive and diverse classroom environment.

What makes my students special is their resilience, diversity, and innate creativity. They come from various backgrounds, each bringing their unique experiences and perspectives, enriching our classroom community. Their enthusiasm for learning and their ability to overcome challenges continue to inspire me every day. These puppetry resources will provide them with yet another avenue to explore, create, and grow.
