This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my bilingual kindergarten classroom, reading is not just about learning letters and sounds it’s about discovering the joy and adventure that books can bring. My students, many of whom come from low-income, Hispanic backgrounds, are learning to read in Spanish as the foundation for their bilingual education. However, we lack the fun, engaging books that make reading an exciting and magical experience for young learners.

Many of my students have never had access to a variety of books at home, and I want to change that in our classroom.

By providing colorful, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant Spanish books, I can help ignite a love of reading that will carry them through their academic journey. These books will not only build their literacy skills but also celebrate their language and heritage, making them proud of their progress as bilingual learners.

Please help my students fall in love with reading! Your donation will bring vibrant, engaging Spanish books into our classroom, giving my kindergarteners the tools and excitement they need to become confident readers. With your support, we can create a classroom filled with stories that inspire, entertain, and educate.
