My Students
I am fortunate to work with over 40 students that are each so special! Our SPED program serves students from Pre-K through 5th grade. We are passionate about helping our students see their unique abilities rather than disabilities. This year has brought many new changes and challenges, but our students have continued to impress me with their resilience and desire to grow!
My Project
Let's bring smiles back to the special education classrooms at our school. Smile-view masks have a clear window that allows for children to see the expressions of their teachers and their classmates. For students with special needs, these social cues are especially important. These masks will not only make communication easier but will also help support their social and verbal development.
Help restore a sense of normalcy to the classroom by letting these kids' amazing smiles shine through.
These smile-view masks will allow teachers to model appropriate sound formation and help prevent miscommunications due to missing social cues. Furthering the development of children benefits everyone and their success is our highest goal.
