Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic and curious about the world. They come to school ready to learn and meet challenges head on. Their enthusiasm for learning is contagious, as they inspire me to challenge them and empower them with the skills they need to prepare them for the 21st century. My students need every opportunity to experience and learn with hands-on resources that stimulate their thinking. They live in a low-income neighborhood and to most English is their second language. 100% of them qualify for free lunch.

My Project

My students along with two other classes, are looking forward to bring science to life through the performing arts. The materials requested will help us and our students prepare their costumes for a musical they will be performing at the end of a science life cycles unit.

Students will memorize their lines and songs to perform for their parents and students in our school.

We will use these supplies to create costumes such as; butterflies, tadpoles, fish, rabbits, snakes, plants, biologist, zoo keepers, and gardeners. They will be part of a fun, creative experience they will never forget.

After learning about metamorphosis, adaptations, and the food chain, students will act out their roles. We will use the musical Life Cycles from the Bad Wolf Press company. Our students will teach others about what they have learned with catchy tunes the audience will be able to hear thanks to the requested speakers and microphones.
