Bringing Science and Exploration Alive for Little Hands
My students need to enhance their knowledge of science in their education they can do this with child size test tubes, water beads, items to create flubber and floam.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Kaiser's classroom raised $484

My Students
I'm a preschool teacher in a special edudcation, self-contained room. My students have various PT and OT needs. They benefit greatly and enjoy tremendously exploring, observing and experimenting with all their senses. I have found many awesome activities to do with my children I just need the resources.
I have 9 students with various disabilities that range from low muscle tone, children born addicted to alcohol and drugs, Pretor Willie Syndrome and Autism to name a few.
Many of my students love to get messy and use their hands to explore their senses. Some students do not like to touch or smell different things, and this can also be very beneficial to them. I have taught in this low income district for 16 years and enjoy the thankfulness they show when given items. So many items and opportunities they may never have the chance to try if it wasn't for generous people and companies lie yourselves. For so many years I spent my own money purchasing items that I needed for projects, due to personal issues I can no longer do that so I am requesting your help to give my students the chance to extend their learning. Possibly opening their world to many different career paths.
My Project
Imagine students sitting around the table and observing various test tubes with different items inside. Items these children perhaps have never seen before, there is an excitement in the air and a sparkle in their eyes. The conversation brought about with students making predictions and discussing the connections they can make from the items. Then the anticipation heightens as the teacher begins to add different types of liquids to the tubes and then they see a reaction. Students will expand their writing skills by using science journals. There are so many options with these materials that the students can be actively involved throughout the year and all the seasons. From the materials to make floam and flubber students can create and maximize their sensory needs. The containers can have items to observe living and nonliving. Most importantly the growing anticipation and enthusiasm with the STEM programs to increase these career skills the children can have for life.
As stated earlier STEM programs have grown significantly in the recent years.
Starting in pre-k these children can be exposed to opportunities, to make predictions and hypothesize about activities within our room. These items will allow such a vast array of experiments and really open my classroom to making Science and Technology a huge part of their lives from the age of 3. All these items are developmentally appropriate and safe for all students to use. Most importantly they will have fun!
