This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of my K1 students got very sick last March and almost died. Student has not been back to school due to their health. I am the school social worker, but also have my teaching license and tutor this student. I see this student 5 days a week at their home. With the items on my list this would greatly help them progress improving their fine motor skills and academic skills.

The student is Autistic and working on their academic goals of being able to complete tasks independently.

All the items on the list will help me meet their sensory needs while working on their academics at home until they are healthy enough to come back to school. Student has been resilient through multiple hospitalizations and remains in good spirits. This student is very special to our school and continues to progress despite everything happening in her life. With more resources they can soar to their full potential.
