This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students amaze me everyday! They are so much fun and very personable. They love to learn and try new things. Their favorite types of activities include collaboration, creativity, and anything that is unconventional! They are problem solvers and enjoy building off of each others' ideas.
My goal is to provide my students the time and resources to practice their reading fluency in a fun and engaging way.
Through Reader's Theater, the students will work collaboratively in small groups or with parters to practice reading. After reading, the students will have the opportunity to read or act out the script for the class. Last year, I started this and my students loved it, but I ran out of scripts.
For this project, I would use the TpT gift card to purchase Reader's Theater scripts connected to essential grade level standards. I have already selected ones about fables, animal adaptations, and character traits to name a few. The file folders, page protectors, binder rings, and boxes will be used to organize the scripts in our classroom.
